In 1963, a group of concerned community leaders in the Western Coloured Township (known as Westbury) founded the now SANCA Central Rand Alcohol and Drug Centre.The Westbury centre provides intervention programmes to alcohol and substance abuse in the Western Suburbs of Johannesburg and surrounding areas.
SANCA offers out-patient treatment programme for the alcohol and drug dependent persons through therapeutic assessments, medical assessments, on-going therapy and aftercare..
Family sessions are conducted with family members or other significant others during this times. Remember initial support from family members can help them pulls through.
The programme ran its course and fulfill certain expectations although sporting activities need to be given more attention. During these times initial support from family and friends is crucial.
