Why do people take drugs?
People use drugs or continue to experiment with drugs because the substance either makes them feel good, or stops them from feeling bad.  In many cases, there is a fine line between regular use and drug abuse and addiction.
The reason why people use drugs:
To fit in with a particular group/ peer pressure
         To escape or relax
         To relieve boredom
To fill a void in one’s life
         To rebel
         To fulfil a valuable need
They think drugs are a solution.  But eventually, the drugs become the problem.  Taking drugs is not an answer.  Difficult as it may be to face one’s problems, the consequences of drug use are always worse than the problem one is trying to solve with them.  The real answer is to get the facts and not to take drugs in the first place.
